Dry Diaper Leadership

Do you know these leaders? You know, the kind that walk around thinking they’re all hot stuff, puffed up and great at speaking or leading worship; and yet their lives and ministry reflect the type of leadership that is simply misguided and directionless. In front of everyone, they look well and good; perhaps even polished. Yet behind the curtains, their lives are infantile.

My son is going through potty-training and only wears diaper at night for bed. But he still wears diapers. Does he need them? At only a few years old, the answer is probably. But if you’re a so-called seasoned ministry veteran, don’t you think it’s time to take off the pull-ups and try some big boy underwear?

Steps to Grow Up

  1. Get in the Word and live out of the overflow.
  2. Pray like you mean it, as if your life and ministry depends on it… because it does.
  3. Lose the show, the facade; the junk that makes you not who God created you to be, and be real with yourself and others.
